In a major policy announcement, the Prime Minister today unveiled a comprehensive infrastructure development plan worth Rs 5 lakh crores, aimed at improving connectivity in rural and semi-urban areas across the country.

The plan includes construction of new highways, railway lines, and digital infrastructure. Special emphasis has been placed on connecting remote villages and improving last-mile connectivity. The project is expected to generate millions of jobs over the next five years.

Opposition parties have welcomed the announcement but raised questions about funding and implementation timelines. State governments have been asked to submit detailed project proposals within the next two months.
